Teens in rehab celebrate Christmas participating in talent show
The day before Christmas our Inspirations teens in rehab put on the Christmas talent show of a lifetime. This year we had a wide variety of acts and talents from teens who have polished their skills through our many therapeutic activities. For the past two weeks, our teens have been practicing very hard to show off their talents. Also, through our music and art therapy program, many of the teens in rehab have discovered this highly effective form of expression. Other teens recited poems they wrote and we even had a sound-effect specialist.
I’m always blown away by how hard our teens work to put on a good show. They really give it their all and you can see that in their performances. It takes a lot to go up and put yourself out there in front of others and be judged. However, we encourage teens not to cower away because they have worked hard and have nothing to be ashamed off.

Finally, our teens got to strut their stuff in front of their fellow peers and also the Inspirations staff. All their practice sure did pay off as our teens in rehab put on a spectacular show! From playing the piano, reading a poem, beatboxing and a dance routine we had a diverse show that brought out the best in our teens and their experiences.

During our Christmas talent show, we also took the time to honor some of our teens who will be leaving soon by inducting them into our Alumni Program. Our alumni program serves to keep our teens connected with Inspirations. Through this network, teens who successfully complete our program can reach out for support at any time. They can also keep up with the friends they’ve made in treatment. This exclusive alumni group has access to our monthly newsletter, our private facebook group of IYF teens and unlimited support from Inspirations staff.
Teens who have joined our alumni program are also offered a medal upon their completion. These medals represent the hard work they have put into making themselves better. It also serves as a reminder that they will always have a place of support from Inspirations for Youth and Families.
