Inspirations for Youth and Families offers our teen’ clients a variety of therapeutic options including but not limited to group, individual, music, art and yoga therapy. We believe that in addition to traditional therapeutic options this diverse range of therapy will help our teens to build successful coping skills they can use anywhere.
Yoga is often described as the holistic package for happy living which helps focus the mind, body, and spirit. At Inspirations yoga therapy incorporates breathing, exercise techniques, strengthening and lengthening of the spine and other body parts.
Why do we use yoga?
Yoga therapy is a great way for our teens to relax and unwind. During the session they also learn self discipline as they work their way through various positions and breathing patterns. In addition, our teens develop their coping skills through yoga exercises and meditation techniques. These skills help them to remain calm, relaxed and in control if they should come across anything distressful.
