The Broward County Police Benevolent Association (BCPBA) is an association to promote professionalism among law enforcement. They strive to also protect the rights and privileges of individual employees, deputies, sworn law enforcement officers or civilian employees.
BCPBA is a proactive law enforcement association that seeks to protect the rights of its fellow employees. They are an active association within the state of Florida that is approximately 26,000 strong.
The Marchman Act
Together with the BCPBA, Inspirations for Youth and Families supports the Marchman Act more commonly known as court ordered rehab especially among our youth. At the discretion of a judge this bill allows a teen or adult charged with a non-violent drug or alcohol related crime instead with court ordered rehab treatment instead of going to prison.
This legislation was passed to help tackle the core drug and alcohol problems through various forms of therapy instead of using jail time as a form of punishment.
Why do we support this act?
This act serves to help our youth before they continue down a dangerous path that could potentially disrupt their future. We strive to give back to the community by helping those who offered the chance to change.
