With the Christmas season upon us Inspirations for Youth and Families took its teens in rehab on a very festive sober outing. Our teens were invited to watch the Christmas Carol: A Family Fun Series at the Broward Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale.
Teaching our teens to have “Sober” fun without drugs and alcohol is an important step in our adolescent substance abuse therapy and recovery process. Inspirations’ approach to teen drug treatment and teen therapy through sports and recreational activities provides our teens with the opportunity to rekindle or learn new skills, develop physical fitness, and expand their minds with new experiences.
To complete our SOBER FUN PROGRAM, our teens in recovery participate in cultural art events and in local environmental activities. Inspirations’ teens in recovery can enjoy our environmental educational trips which are provided through community classes, seminars, workshops, field trips, interpretive displays, visual presentations and research.
A Christmas Carol
The Christmas Carol featured Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and other colorful characters for a remarkable holiday presentation. Especially adapted for family audiences, this musical production of the Charles Dickens classic is a wonderful way to celebrate the tradition of the season with the entire family.
This show was presented by The Broward Performing Arts Center.
IYF teens in rehab share their thoughts
Our teens in rehab really enjoyed the time among each other and had a fun experience without being under the influence of drugs. During a season where being alone can be hard it’s nice to see our teens becoming a pillar of support for each other. They really enjoyed the familial and festive atmosphere. Our teens also stated they really enjoyed such a captivating performance and will be sure to see more productions like this in the future.
