Teen Heroin Addiction

Heroin addiction is not a matter to be taken lightly and should be treated as soon as possible. It targets the receptors in the brain that controls the chemicals responsible for your pleasure and reward system. It then releases a rush of these chemicals called endorphins. Due to misuse of the drug the brain is temporarily unable to produce its own endorphins which causes the withdrawal symptoms forcing addicts to use in order to feel better.

This is one of the easiest drugs to be addicted to and is every difficult to quit cold turkey. Those who have tried often relapse and some even die. To end heroin addiction your teen needs around the clock medical attention to help during the detox process. As well as proper therapy to ensure they form new behavioral habits. These new habits will help them abstain from heroin and continue a sober lifestyle.
