Drug and street term: Xanies

To better inform everyone, we had a round table discussion with teens from Inspirations for Youth and Families about drug and street terms everyone may want to know. The definition below is based on collective information gathered from teens within our rehab and online research.
Xanies (zan-ees) (n.) – Slang for Xanax a easily abused prescription drug.

Example: Sarah stole some xanies for us to try after school.

Inspirations Xanex Drug Treatment

Xanex is often prescribed by a doctor to treat anxiety. Teens however abuse this drug by using it as a “come down” after taking other upper drugs such as ecstasy. The xanex pill can be taken orally or snorted after being crushed.

Withdrawal Symptoms:

  • Aches and pains
  • Restlessness
  • Chest pain
  • Depression
  • Blurred vision
  • Dizziness
  • Dry mouth
