Teen substance abuse rehab Inspirations for Youth and Families helped our teens in treatment to plan for their future. With so many of our teens entering treatment at critical ages, such as 15-17, Inspirations reached out to the college prep and career guidance expert Mindy Sherman from Pathways 2 Work. Mindy’s agency specializes in presentations and one-on-one sessions to help teens get the necessary information for the next step in their lives.
Pathways 2 Work
Pathways 2 Work helps matches clients to the right jobs and career paths. Each client within their program undergoes an assessment to find their strengths as well as weaknesses. This helps to determine the best course of action to achieve their goals. Through this personal assessment, goal planning and their experienced guidance they give clients the confidence and tools to improve their employment situation. In the realm of teens, they provide college prep, career guidance and employment counseling. Pathways to recovery help teens to discover their options for employment or higher education in an easy to comprehend format that is geared to helping them succeed no matter what.

How it helps our teens in substance abuse rehab
Our teens in rehab are at a critical time in their life. Many come from their lowest point and have to learn how to completely rebuild themselves from scratch. In addition to treatment, with the help of our educational program, Inspirations helps our teens to get back on track! Having guest speakers like Pathways 2 Work visit provides teens with more resources and information to create a positive future.
“I thought it was great information because it just gives us a chance to think about our future and where we want to be when we get out of here.”
-Justin, an Inspirations’ teen.
The Pathways 2 Work presentation helped him to gain more information about the steps needed in order to achieve his dream career. Justin hopes to be a psychologist and was able to pick up a lot of information about applying to colleges and how to attain financial aid.
“It was helpful to me even though I had prior information. I lack a lot of direction. I knew what I wanted to do but I didn’t really know how to get there. There was actually a gap but I bridged the gap.”
