Inspirations for Youth and Families teen rehab won the acclaimed 2nd Annual “Take 5 to Stay Alive,” Student Video Contest. All public and private high school students were invited to help spread the word that texting and driving is a deadly combination. The students were challenged to write and produce an original Public Service Announcement (PSA) that told everyone to “Take 5 to Stay Alive – Don’t Text & Drive.” This 2nd annual contest encouraged teens to create effective messages for safe driving by submitting an original 30 or 60 second PSA to remind their peers not to text and drive.

Every contestant was invited to a “red carpet” screening of the winning videos along with a presentation of prizes and awards on March 19th at Cinema Paradiso in Fort Lauderdale. There were 33 PSA videos presented and Jimmy of Inspirations for Youth and Families came out on top winning the student’s choice award.

Inspirations for Youth and Families (IYF) won the Student’s Choice Award where James Plunkett, Taylor Benton, and Noah Kendal starred in the video called “Boys.”

The Broward County Emergency Medical Services Council through the office of the Medical Examiner and Trauma Services and Broward County School Board presented the winning videos below.
