Inspirations for Youth and Families (IYF) teen rehab presented to the Broward County School’s Middle and High School Counseling Directors about its programs and services and how it can be a helpful resource in the event the school’s teens suffer from drug abuse and alcohol addiction. The event took place at the Rock Island Development Center in Ft. Lauderdale. IYF was the only teen treatment center to present at the meeting.
IYF Director of Education, Denise Achee informed the meeting attendees about the state-of-the-art features of the teen rehab and also elaborated on its industry leading online educational academy. Achee also spoke about the merits of completing a GED as a fall back strategy.
Cindy Berger, IYF’s Clinical Director, also spoke at the event and informed the audience of the present heroin epidemic that has plagued schools all across the nation including Broward County.
Lisa Albee, School Counseling Specialist, for the Department of School Counseling, K-12 at the School Board of Broward County stated:
“One of the things about Inspirations that I know many counselors have inquired about is if it has a residential program.”
“Teen Residential Drug and Alcohol Rehabs are few and far between in South Florida. Inspirations has both a residential and out-patient component to assess and meet the needs if you have a student that is going through a difficult time.”
Other presenters at the meeting included Lynn Goldman of the Broward Technical Colleges and Lauren M. Scerbo from Sheridan Technical College.
