Attorneys, law offices, judges, criminal investigators, prosecuting attorneys, legal mediators, legal media and publishers, IT consultants, CPA’s, public speakers, educational institutions, banks and business that service the legal industry all visited the Inspirations and Cove exhibit booths. Inspirations and the Cove stood alone as the de facto drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers to attend this mega event for the Broward legal profession.

If you wonder why Inspirations and the Cove was there, the answer is quite simple. Often times, teens who are abusing alcohol or drugs get in trouble with the law and need a contingency plan besides going to a youth correctional facility or for adults jail.  This is where both highly acclaimed addiction treatment centers can play an integral role in providing court-ordered rehab which is officially named the Marchman Act in the state of Florida.

What is the Marchman Act?

If a teen or adult is charged with a non-violent drug or alcohol related crime, there’s a reasonable chance that he or she can avoid prison by agreeing to get addiction treatment instead. Typical crimes that fall under the Marchman Act can be Driving under the Influence (DUI), drug possession, or any number of other drug or alcohol related crimes that can be prosecuted by the court system.

Now is there a risk involved in taking in teens and adults – who faced criminal charges – into our addiction treatment center. The answer is an unequivocal yes. It is possible that they may not complete the program and relapse.

Overall, there was a symbiotic relationship between Inspirations and the Cove and the BCBA. We provided exhibit attendees information that can assist them in performing their businesses at an optimal level and we forged ties with companies that can not only grow our business, but help people suffering from drug or alcohol abuse to get better.
