Inspirations for Youth and Families teen rehab was honored by the Broward County Commissioners in recognition for having three of its students win the student choice award for the “Take Five to Stay Alive,” Don’t Text and Drive contest. The public information campaign was orchestrated by Broward County, in partnership with Broward County Schools, BECON-TV and other local partners.
The winning entries, which included a group of teens attending the Inspirations for Youth and Families Teen educational academy – targeted teens and young adults with public safety messages about the dangers of distracted driving. Broward County high school students submitted 30 – to 60- second Public Service Announcements (PSA’s) to educate viewers on the importance of driving safely while using wireless devices and not texting and driving. There were 15 entries in this year’s competition representing seven schools and 69 students.
The winning students were recognized on May 13, during the Broward County Board of County Commissioners meeting.
